The DXP4800 GT has two 10GbE RJ45 ports. Either one alone gives you a 10GbE link. Used together with link aggregation on a managed switch, they provide up to 20Gbps of combined bandwidth across multiple simultaneous connections — not 20Gbps to a single workstation, which remains capped at 10GbE. The second port can also serve a separate network segment or a direct link to one machine.
To reach 10GbE speeds you also need a 10GbE client adapter, a 10GbE switch or direct connection, Cat6a cabling (Cat6 on short runs), and a storage configuration fast enough to sustain the transfer.
The platform supports ECC memory, but the DXP4800 GT ships with a standard non-ECC 8GB DDR4 module. To run ECC you must purchase and install compatible ECC modules yourself. Memory is expandable to 64GB, and 8GB is sufficient for file storage, backups and light container use — plan on upgrading if you intend to run several Docker containers or a virtual machine alongside other services. Confirm any module against the UGREEN NAS compatibility list before purchasing.
The two internal M.2 NVMe slots are for SSD caching or a separate SSD storage pool, and they sit alongside your four SATA bays. U.2 support works differently: front bays 1 and 2 accept compatible U.2 NVMe SSDs at PCIe 3.0 x4, and a U.2 drive replaces the SATA drive in that bay rather than adding capacity beside it.
Choose U.2 when you want enterprise-class endurance and sustained write performance in a main storage bay — for active project files, virtual machine storage or databases. U.2 drives draw more power and run hotter than SATA drives.
Choose the GT when networking is your constraint: it has two 10GbE ports where the DXP4800 Pro has one 10GbE and one 2.5GbE, and it adds U.2 SSD support in the front bays plus ECC-capable memory. Both are four-bay systems supporting up to 144TB and RAID 0/1/5/6/10.
Choose the Pro when processing headroom matters more than network throughput: its Intel Core i3-1315U supports memory expansion to 96GB against the GT's 64GB, and Intel Quick Sync is a consideration for codec-heavy media server workloads. Compare UGREEN NAS models side by side.
