UGREEN NAS Software and UGOS Pro FAQs

No. App Center installs applications that run on the NAS itself, the UGREEN NAS client runs on your phone, computer, or supported TV to access and manage the NAS, and Download Center provides model-specific firmware, manuals, drivers, and NAS application packages.

Use UGREEN NAS client downloads for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Apple TV, and Android TV. There is no dedicated Linux desktop client; Linux users can use a browser, SMB, or NFS instead. For firmware and model-specific files, use the UGREEN NAS Download Center.

No. The DH2300 does not officially support Docker. The DH4300 Plus and current DXP models—including DXP2800, DXP4800 Plus, DXP4800 Pro, DXP2800 GT, DXP4800 GT, DXP6800 Pro, DXP8800 Plus, and DXP480T Plus—support Docker.

Docker support means the NAS can run compatible containers; it does not guarantee that every third-party container is configured, maintained, or supported by UGREEN. To deploy containers on a compatible model, set up Docker and Docker Compose on a supported UGREEN NAS.

Only DXP models support Virtual Machine Manager. The DH2300 and DH4300 Plus do not support virtual machines. Current DXP models, including DXP2800 GT and DXP4800 GT, support the feature.

Virtual-machine support does not guarantee the same performance across models: CPU resources, installed memory, storage I/O, and the guest operating system determine how many VMs a NAS can run comfortably. Set up a virtual machine on a supported UGREEN NAS when the model requirement is met.

Yes. UGREEN NAS supports SMB, NFS, WebDAV, FTP, and SFTP, but you must enable the relevant service in UGOS Pro and grant the user access to the shared folder.

Protocol availability does not automatically make the NAS reachable outside your home network. For WebDAV specifically, use HTTPS rather than plain HTTP and follow the UGREEN NAS WebDAV connection guide for Windows or Mac setup.
